First visit to Jail - It's Oct 7 and i'm on an early morning flight to Singapore. Deep down, i just wanted to be in KL and see my WO WO. It's his 2nd night in police custoday, and his first time to be locked up in a real jail!
My parents went to the jail to see him. While i was preparing for my presentation in my hotel room in Singapore, i received the phone call from my mom. She described to me the condition of the place. It really made me sick.
In this jail, there are so many inhumane conditions:-
- no real bed to sleep on. You basically sleep on concrete walls
- you drink tap water
- you only get to wear shorts and no shirts are given. You need to PURCHASE the jail uniform from the jail store. And guess what, there were no stocks for his size and they weren't sure when there will be new stocks again
- you will eat jail food only
- you will only get to meet your visitors ONE time per week for a certain duration plus no physical interaction, as you are divided by glass panel
After hearing these news, i shouted in pain, and seek mercy from God. Why should he be punished so harshly? He wasn't even going to be trialed in Malaysia, as this was a HK case. So, why not let him go back to HK immediately? Why waste the resources of both countries? Plus how can this help his case? Rather than delaying and waiting, why not just send him back to his original country, where he can defend and go on an actual trial
Being involved in police custody is already a bad thing, and now being kept in a location where you do not even speak the native language, this is truly mind-shattering.
By now, i have still not managed to get the CASE NO. from the police department. For relatives and loved ones, of the person behind bar..... it's torture just seeing your loved one being caught, and knowing that you are helpless in changing the situation.
As from what i know, it was due to a case of business transaction, and signing of agreement. IT was not murder, it was not theft, and we still see rampant cases of ex-convicts, or freshly released suspects, going back to their hideous crimes.
I could barely control my feelings, and wished that all of this was a REALLY BAD DREAM. I am willing to exchange all my money, my business, and properties, just to give him a second chance. I just know that he is my soul mate. At this point, i should do whatever i can to help & support him.
But then, the show must go on. Without extra cash, i would not be able to afford the lawyer to defend him when he goes on trial next time. That became my motivation. I worked till 11pm that night, and then decided that for things to be done, i just have to do whatever i can. If it was ME who was in jail, WO WO would be also doing all his might to get me out. I just wish that during his stay in jail, he will not lose his spirit and not be harmed in any way. In his entire life, he's always lived in the city, and has never even spent a night camping outdoors. He's a real gentleman, who has done so many wonderful things for me, that No one else could ever have.
I've had many previous relationships but none have been as committed, and satisfying than with WO WO.
